RegistrationOur year runs from June through May. When you register for our SAT/PSAT/ACT course, though we recommend that you commit to a consistent class time, you have the ability to create your own schedule. Students are expected to attend a minimum of two classes as well as one workshop a week. Students may attend unlimited classes and workshops during their enrollment period. Students may use the computer lab for vocabulary drills as well as take practice tests anytime during center hours.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Do I have to begin the classes with Lesson 1?

No, each lesson is self contained, so you may begin our program at any point in the  schedule rotation for Lessons 1-5 in Verbal and Math.

2. How many class lessons are there in total?

There are 7 Verbal and 7 Math lessons. A DT1 (diagnostic test) is administered for each student before he/she begins taking classes. After the student completes Lessons 1-5, a DT2 (diagnostic test) is administered to assess progress. Lessons 6 &7 are a comprehensive review of the DT2.  STUDENTS MUST TAKE THE DT2 BEFORE ATTENDING LESSONS 6 & 7.

3.  Do I have to make an appointment to take a diagnostic test?

No appointment is needed.  A diagnostic test may be taken any time during center hours. Just note that you must allow enough time fo the entire test to be completed in one sitting. The DT1 takes 2 1/2 hours and the DT2 takes 4 hours. We strongly recommend taking these tests on the weekends.

4.   Can I begin taking classes before I take the DT1?

Yes, but we recommend you take the diagnostic within a week of beginning so we can identify academic strenghts and weaknesses, as well as monitor progress and improvement.

5. What is the difference between a class and a workshop?

A class is two hours, focused in one area. Students receive instruction and are then tested on the content. A workshop is a one hour, guided lesson, which gives the students a chance to practice the skills and strategies learned in class.
